Drained

This is really good work and you leave so much room for interpretation. A few things that come to mind;
Red, white and blue dominant colors give a feel of patriotic emotion. With the title drained... perhaps this soldier has cried with tears of blood for he has shed so much of it in Afghanistan. Now all that remains are his red tear tracks and his guilt.

or......

At last science prevailed. The antidote worked. He could feel the blood thirst diminishing... the vampire in him was draining... slowly.
